At the gates of Orleans and Chambord, the Domaine du Gué du Roi is a vestige of a small 18th century castle, unfortunately disappeared, which we bought in 2011 and patiently renovated to make it a house of happiness for our family and our hosts. In the one hectare park surrounded by centuries-old walls, we thus transformed the barn and the dovecote into two gîtes and the chapel into two guest rooms , and installed a wooden caravan .
In parallel, we gave new life to the adjoining farm, the Ferme du Petit Gué du Roi , by creating a dozen hectares of horses and donkeys ; starting in summer 2020, we are opening afarm campsite with a retro caravan and lodge tent, as well as a shop selling local products (AOC wines and other delicacies).
Ideally located on the route of the Loire Castles at 1:30 to the south-west of Paris with direct access to the A10 and A71 motorways and at the crossroads of major hiking trails, we are today happy to welcome all tourists in search of an unusual and bucolic parenthesis respectful of its environment , as well as the riders of the European Route D'Artagnan , the cyclists of the Loire à Vélo and the walkers of St Jacques de Compostelle.
